This is a First Person Narrative Experience where the player is placed into the boots of a Mercenary looking for a new guild to join. The conflict occurs by the player losing track of time and sleeping in. The player must recover their items and get to their interview on time. In doing this, I wanted to have a relatable topic, with a fun setting and very tongue and cheek writing that drives home the absurdity of the occasion.
Level Design and World Building

This is another item that's included in the game. One of the most important pieces of including this particular item was establishing how the events of this game were taking place.
This describes not only a bit of the world, but it also has something that establishes the player character. That being the coffee stain on the bottom right corner. This shows the player that their character doesn't have their affairs in order and their place is a bit of a mess. This is explored a bit more in the environmental design.
Resume Description
This is the main room of the player's ship, in which they have a lot of items to pick up. Such as keys to the other rooms. What I wanted to reinforce through this was the appearance of the player character being a bit of a slob.
There's trash that isn't in the trash can, soda cans on the table that should be recycled, and some dishes in the sink. On top of this, there are items in their ship that are not where they are supposed to be. Such as there being a pistol in their fridge.

Environmental Story Telling

This is one of the examples of the slight humor that's contained in Who'd Hire a Late Mercenary. Typically in games with helmets like this, there is a HUD or Heads Up Display. However, most of the time they're described as being a piece of technology that tells the wearer a lot about their immediate environment.
One of the things that I had decided to implement with that is what if you took this technology and made it mundane? Such as if you wanted to make sure what you put in the oven didn't burn!
